چکیده
The use of joint properties and mapping techniques are key for fall ground management in underground mining. This paper outlines the probabilistic design approach addressing potential falls ground, based on identified keyblocks. A shallow chrome mine was used as a case study to identify causes with aim improving existing system. system comprises visual observations, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning Borehole camera inspections. is characterised by geological structures such faults joints, hence leans towards structural analysis. Joint carried out North South sections using window scanline mappint techniques. collected data from each section evaluate rock probability. Rockfall analysis indicates that about 80% all blocks formed 1 m3 size. Results show larger more likely fail through rotation whereas small most in-between support units. Further stability conducted simulation effect change spacing excavation stability. Indeed plays critical role overall opposed length capacity unit. conclusion drawn improvement factor safety during exercise. research an MSc Engineering study.
